Italian Roma tomato is a classic heirloom paste (plum) variety producing elongated, pear-shaped or blocky-oval fruits typically 3-5 inches long and 2 inches wide, weighing 2-5 ounces, with smooth, bright red skin, thick, meaty walls, firm flesh, and very few seeds for smooth processing. The flavor is rich, deep, and balanced—sweet with mild acidity and excellent tomato intensity that's concentrated and ideal for cooking rather than fresh eating alone. These tomatoes are perfect for making homemade sauces, paste, salsa, canning whole or diced, adding to soups and stews, or roasting for concentrated flavor in dishes like bruschetta, chili, or pizza toppings.
