Refund policy

At Salt City Gardens, we stand behind the quality of our plants. We guarantee that plants purchased from us will successfully establish (take root and show healthy new growth) for 45 days from the date of purchase, provided they are planted and cared for properly.

If a plant fails to establish within this 45-day period due to transplant issues (and not due to customer neglect or other excluded factors), we will replace it one time with a plant of equal or similar value at no additional charge.

To Qualify for a Replacement:

  • You must present your original sales receipt (or proof of purchase from our records).
  • Clear photos provided showing it was properly planted in the ground—not left in the original container.
  • The claim must be made within the 45-day window.
  • We may ask for basic details about planting location, soil prep, watering routine, and any recent weather events to help diagnose the issue.

What Is Covered:

  • Typical transplant shock or failure to establish when the plant was planted according to standard guidelines (proper depth, good soil contact, initial watering, etc.).

What Is NOT Covered (Exclusions):

  • Neglect, including under-watering, over-watering, or lack of watering after the initial period.
  • Improper planting (e.g., too deep/shallow, poor soil amendment, planting in unsuitable conditions like extreme shade/full sun mismatch for the variety).
  • Damage from pests, diseases, animals (deer, rabbits, voles), or weeds introduced after leaving our nursery.
  • Extreme weather events (late frosts, heat waves, hail, drought, flooding).
  • Plants left in containers, not transplanted into the ground or a permanent pot.
  • Damage from moving the plant multiple times, mechanical injury, or vandalism.
  • Natural seasonal decline (e.g., dormancy in fall/winter, annuals completing their cycle).

Replacement plants carry the remainder of the original 45-day period (no new full 45 days starts). This is a one-time replacement only—no chain replacements. We reserve the right to inspect the plant if needed.
