Chef's choice black is a 2020 All-America Selections (AAS) winning hybrid tomato that produces high yeilds of 8-10 oz. deep blackish-red, beefsteak-type fruits. The indeterminate, 5-foot plants are known for being disease-resistant and producing juicy, meaty tomatoes with sweet, savory, and slightly salty flavor. These tomatoes are perfect for slicing thick on sandwiches and burgers, adding dramatic color and flavor to caprese salads, or using in fresh salsas and bruschetta. This variety is a good choice for Utah because it is heat-tolerant, disease-resistant, and reliably productive in our hot, dry summers and shorter high-elevation season when given full sun and consistent moisture.
